VAN DIJK WINS SOUTHHAMPONS AWARD OF THE YEAR

Cuco Martina's screamer against Arsenal won Southampton's goal of the season
Centre-back Virgil van Dijk has scooped Southampton's Player's Player and Fans' Player of the season awards.
The 24-year-old joined from Scottish champions Celtic last summer to replace Toby Alderweireld, who joined Tottenham, and has been superb across 37 appearances for the club this season.

Van Dijk, a Netherlands international, picked up over 50 per cent of the fans' votes, with striker Shane Long finishing second and midfielder Steven Davis third.Left-back Ryan Bertrand won the President's Choice award, chosen by ex-Southampton player Terry Paine MBE.
Cuco Martina's stunning strike against Arsenal on Boxing Day was voted the club's Goal of the Season.And a great night for the club's defenders at the end of season awards was rounded off with youngster Alfie Jones picking up the club's Young Player of the Season
The final presentation of the night was given to goalkeeper Kelvin Davis for special service to the Saints. Davis, who has spent 10 years at St Mary's, has a testimonial next week.
